Xplorium!

The Xplorium! Chamber Ensemble is a large chamber group consisting of musicians from all over the South-East. Xplorium! strives to present concerts of contemporary chamber works by commissioning of composers to write pieces involving percussion and/or saxophone. The group was founded in 2010 and has performed at several national and internationally renowned events including the “2011 WASBE Conference & 20th Chiayi City International Band Festival” (Chiayi, Taiwan) and the North American Saxophone Alliances 2012 Biennial Conference (Tempe, AZ). Along with their live performances, Xplorium! will also be releasing their first CD, which will contain commissions specifically written for the group by composers Stephen Lias and Mark Engebretson, as well as an Michael Young’s arrangement of Camille Saint-Saens’s Carnival of the Animals. Also, the extraordinarly complex piece, Krasch! will a featured on the upcoming CD as well. The Xplorium! Chamber Ensemble is a member of Chamber Music America (CMA).
